Demagoge. In Paris Frankreich veranlasste seine Fortpflanzung seiner ehemaligen Ideen den Abt von Clairvaux, Louis VII er verbannen zu lassen. 1145 machte er eine ernste Abschwörung vorher PapstPope Eugenius IIIEugenius III, aber ein paar Monate später griff er die zeitliche Macht des Papstes an und führte eine Revolution an, die Eugenius aus Rom seit drei Jahren zwang. Unter PapstPope Adrian IVAdrian IV wurde Arnold vor der Kurie, erniedrigt, und wahrscheinlich zu Tode gebracht durch die weltliche Macht in Rom aburteilt. Demagog. In Paris, France his propagation of his former ideas caused the Abbot of Clairvaux to have Louis VII exile him. In 1145 he made a solemn abjuration before PapstPope Eugenius IIIEugenius III, but a few months later he attacked the temporal power of the pope and headed a revolution which forced Eugenius out of Rome for three years. Under PapstPope Adrian IVAdrian IV, Arnold was tried before the Curia, degraded, and probably put to death by the secular power in Rome.
