La parabola in Luke 14. Un compagno della parabola del "costruttore" e l'accentuazione della stessa idea. È preso da vita politica internazionale: un sovrano che partecipa a guerra deve sapere la forza militare del nemico così come il suo. Se c'è qualche paura ragionevole, che lui potrebbe esser sconfitto in battaglia, lui meglio entra in trattative di pace. L'applicazione letterale stesso come nel "costruttore". L'applicazione generale è possibile estraendo dal significato letterale e l'utilizzazione della parabola indipendentemente. Allora questo può insegnarci che la guerra spirituale che dobbiamo intraprendere quotidianamente contro il principe di questo mondo richiede il distacco sia da stesso sia dal mondo.Parable in Luke 14. It is taken from international political life: a ruler engaging in war must know the military strength of the enemy as well as his own. If there be any reasonable fear, that he might be defeated in battle, he better enter peace negotiations. Literal application same as in the “builder.” General application is possible by abstracting from the literal meaning and using the parable independently. Then it may teach us that the spiritual warfare which we must wage daily against the prince of this world requires detachment from both self and the world.
