Fora do mundo inteiro um homem, Peter, é escolhido para presidir o de todas as nações e ser estabelecido por cima de todos os apóstolos e todos os pais da igreja. Embora haja em pessoas de Deus muitos bispos e muitos pastores, Peter é assim nomeado governar na sua própria pessoa aqueles que Cristo também governa como o soberano original. Querido, que grande e maravilhoso é esta repartição no seu poder que o Deus na sua bondade deu a este homem. Tudo o que Cristo quis a ser compartilhado em comum por Peter e outros líderes da igreja, é só por Peter que ele deu a outros o que ele não recusou concedê-los. Jesus disse: “Sobre esta rocha construirei a minha igreja, e as portas do inferno não devem prevalecer contra ele.” Nesta fundação forte, ele diz, construirei um templo eterno. A grande altura da minha igreja, que deve penetrar os céus, deve aumentar à fundação firme desta fé. Por isso, dizem a Peter abençoado:“ Para você darei as chaves da monarquia do céu. Tudo o que você amarre a terra estará atado também no céu. Whatever Christ has willed to be shared in common by Peter and the other leaders of the Church, it is only through Peter that he has given to others what he has not refused to bestow on them. Jesus said: “Upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” On this strong foundation, he says, I will build an everlasting temple. The great height of my Church, which is to penetrate the heavens, shall rise on the firm foundation of this faith. Blessed Peter is therefore told: “To you I will give the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound also in heaven.
