Narayana gave me some pills for allergy as my eyes were stinging and my nose was stuffed up. So I’m per­se­vering and get­ting read­justed to being back home and chanting alone.

There will be plenty of time to com­plete them on the two hours drive from Baltimore to Lewes, Delaware. I’ll take a sand­wich or two on the air­plane around noon time.

I bor­rowed hers while I was there and tuned it into the rain sound. I go to bed early and the machine helps block out all the noise. I also wear earplugs. They also gave me a framed por­trait of Prabhupada sit­ting in an upright chair in India. His arms are bare and he’s looking intently at the camera. I am using this pic­ture for the cover of my poem col­lec­tion Soul Eyes. I gave the chil­dren presents of gift cer­tifi­cates. The chil­dren gave their mother a Michael Jackson CD “This Is It” as a present and they gave their father a Doctor Seuss book about entering old age. They gave Baladeva a present of a sweater.
